| Manugraph DGM Announces First Middle Eastern UV Order |
ELIZABETHVILLE, PA – Manugraph DGM (MDGM) announces the sale of their first UV press order to the Middle East. |
OKAZ Organization for Press and Publications in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia has purchased a Manugraph DGM 440 4-high with UV curing and a DGM 1035 jaw folder, which will be added to an existing Community™ press. It represents the first MDGM order for 4-high towers with UV curing capabilities to the Middle East. “In a region that prints newspapers with coated stock paper on all section fronts, this is an important order for MDGM in establishing UV as a more than capable alternative to gas drying systems,” said Ron Ehrhardt, Vice President of International Sales for Manugraph DGM. |
After more than five years of UV testing in their manufacturing plant and a growing North American UV customer base, MDGM has established themselves as the global industry leader in UV printing for the single width industry. |
The 3-form roller DGM 440 UV capable tower replaces a 2-form roller Community™ 4-high with gas drying. The new 440 4-High will print four-color newspaper section fronts on glossy stock while the new 1035 folder will fold up to 10 webs using the new 440 4-High and the existing 25-unit Community™ press. The new equipment will also print 1-web commercial signatures for magazine and other publication work. |
As another part of the OKAZ project, Manugraph DGM will perform an on-site refurbishment of the existing 25-unit Community™ press. “It’s a real win-win situation for OKAZ. They can add high quality UV color to an older press and have MDGM support the existing Community™ equipment with rebuilding, parts and service for the future” added Ehrhardt.
| The press is scheduled for shipment in the first quarter of 2008. |
